We need as many people as possible to send letters of objection, therefore we need as many people as possible to know that the statutory notice has been published. This is our last chance to have a say in the final outcome. Please print off the posters and display in your windows at home or even in your car to help save Eglwys Newydd Primary School.
Is the “Cardiff council to destroy Whitchurch” sign available online to download and print – I want one in my window.
I do think it is extremely sad that this issue is being potrayed as dividing a community. This is not about (or at least should not be about) welsh versus english education but about what is best for all our children. Instead of a community divided lets work together to find a good solution for as many children as possible. I feel for MG and EW who both have sub standard accomodation to my knowledge. Again to my knowledge both schools work together – this is hardly a divided community! At the end of the day we should all think of the children and holding vigils and putting up billboards which exclaim the death of Whitchurch really helps no one. It is disturbing to children and the public alike and potrays a them against us stance which I really think we should not promote. We would be much stronger as a whole community working towards a common goal rather than a split community which the council will just overlook.
Divisive? Who on earth wants childrens playing fields ripped up? The proposals are a disgrace to all Whitchurch residents and I would suggest to anyone concerned about the environment and childrens education.
Let’s ALL get behind this and save Whitchurch.
where can I get one of the signs?
there are loads around Whitchurch, but I have heard nothing about where to acquire them!
Of course it is dividing the community, this is what the council is creating! People WILL take polarised positions as the English medium is losing places and the Welsh medium are gaining. Under Council proposals when children are forced to attend other schools to prop up them, how long will it take to improve the schools and make them an attractive to parents,10 years or so? And what of the standards of education for those attending in the interim? Selling playing fields that are well used by school and the community to build houses, under these proposals, where will these additional children be educated when we have copiously reduced capacity in our local schools.
